Celebrated my husband’s birthday at this steakhouse, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! The surf & turf is a standout, pairing succulent seafood with rich wagyu. The Alberta ribeye was seasoned to perfection, with the ideal balance of saltiness, tenderness, and a generous portion size. Can I say the mashed potatoes that come with the steak is beyond my wildest imagination? Its creaminess, richness and the slightly crispy crust make it absolutely divine!! We loved the arugula and truffle salad, which had a unique blend (though it could’ve been a bit less salty). We booked our table three weeks in advance, and Daniel’s service was exceptional. He called us beforehand, suggesting a slightly later arrival to dodge the hockey crowd. Throughout the evening, he was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. And don’t skip the cheesecake! It’s a must-try, with a unique flavor profile that leans toward the savory side. Yes, the place is on the pricier side, but for a special occasion like this, totally worth it. We’ll definitely be back with friends to explore more of the menu!

Fantastic. I don't eat out at restaurants as nice as this very often, but this evening I decided to treat myself. The steak was perhaps the best I've ever had, and the brussel sprout side dish was a dream. Honestly, it would be a meal in itself given its robust and incredibly flavorful combination of chestnuts, apple, and large chunks of bacon. I never needed to add salt or anything else to either dish which, for me is a rarity. Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! The next time I am in Toronto I will make a point of dining there again. The only drawback? Finding the place! The restaurant is not visible from the street, and you have to go into a courtyard of sorts and look very carefully for a reclusive glass door with very low profile signage. Picture attached :-)

I celebrated my birthday here tonight and it was one of the best experiences I had. My husband and I were privileged to be serviced by Rob, whose knowledge about the different steaks around the world was impressive. From how the farm breeds their steaks to how the different steaks should be cooked to the wine pairing, his knowledge and his ability to explain it to us in such a concise manner left us in awe. We walked out of there feeling we just took a steak lesson! All the staff that helped were also very professional. They also gave me a special treat in the end for my celebration. Thank you for a great night.

We were treated with phenomenal service for my fiance‘s birthday, special shout to the bartender Katia, who took care of us and went the extra mile to give us celebratory espresso martinis at the end of our meal. She also made a wonderful paper plane cocktail. Also our server Timothy was exceptional and attentive. The food was awesome and rich in flavour profile.

The Butcher Chef is one of the high-end steak house in Toronto. It competes with Jacob&Co and Blueblood. It is my first time going to this fancy restaurant and have high expectations. Luckily, my restaurant did not disappoint me. Service is top-notch, price is on the higher side but portion is generous. We ordered beef and king crab roll for app, truffle ravioli to share, 16oz Argentina ribeye with sauteed mushroom, finish off with the cheesecake. Truffle Ravioli is the highlight of the night, the ravioli filled with A5 minced beef, top of truffle, and good portion to share. Steak is well seasoned and comes with 3 types of salt from around the world. We love the beef and king crab roll, a very special combination that never finds in other restaurants. Definitely, we will come back and try different things from the menu!

I must say this is an absolutely choice restaurant. The food presentations were so well prepared and visually stunning! Our server Daniel was exceptionally accommodating during our stay, as well as the others who assisted at our table. This is my new favorite place to eat.

Surf and Turf offers high-quality ingredients, particularly the A5 Wagyu, which is incredibly flavorful and juicy, though it is a bit salty. The Seared Foie Gras was the best I’ve had in Toronto. It was creamy and soft, practically melting in my mouth. When paired with an apple slice, it added a delightful sweetness that perfectly balanced the dish. It was so addictive! However, if you are sensitive to the gamey flavor of foie gras, you might not enjoy it as much, but I highly recommend giving it a try. I also tried the P.E.I. dry-aged steak for the first time, and it’s one of the best I’ve experienced in Toronto so far. The chef cooked it to a perfect medium rare, resulting in a tender, juicy steak bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the cold weather, as the steak cooled down quickly, making it feel somewhat greasy as I ate it. I hope this aspect can be improved. I appreciated the welcoming appetizer and dessert; the shrimp toast was particularly memorable and felt like a hidden gem from the chef. I can tell the restaurant has a good reputation as a high-end steakhouse. Their steak-cutting tools are from Japan, and I enjoyed the variety of salts available, especially the pink salt and the truffle salt. As for the service, the entire team was friendly and welcoming. However, it seemed to be fully booked that day, and I felt a bit rushed during the meal. Despite that, I will definitely come back!

Absolutely great fine dining experience in Toronto. Started off with fresh oysters with lemon and hot sauce if you are new to oysters. Recommending the Halibut & Shrimp (not shown on the website) as an Halal options and if you’re not a meat-lover. Others, there are multiple steak options. Try those with the butter braised asparagus. The service was great and the team provided every details of each meal served.
